Cardiff Connects

Thursday 3 November 2016, Cardiff

INNOVATION . INFRASTRUCTURE . INTEGRATION

OVERVIEW

The Cardiff Connects Summit was an event devoted to exploring how national and local aspirations for integrated public services can be practically managed through new models. It was designed for leaders throughout the public sector who have been tasked with organisational change and service delivery.

Over the past 18 months there has been a significant focus from the government on people, digital and physical assets – in part to bridge a longer term financial sustainability gap but also to capitalise on emerging opportunities in innovation and devolution. Cardiff Connects sought to explore how national and regional strategies can coalesce, shape and positively impact upon horizon scanning – capitalising in particular on the smart city and an outcome focused approach to delivering modern public services.

The day examined innovative and visionary public sector ambitions, from HMRC’s Building our Future programme, investing in smart urban transport solutions, to providing digital and efficient service solutions for a modern and transformed public sector.
