CO-FOUNDER

Sir John Bourn was the Comptroller & Auditor General of the United Kingdom (1988-2008), the first Auditor General for Wales (1999-2005) and the Prime Minister’s Advisor on Ministerial Interests (2006-2007).

Sir John also served on the Financial Reporting Council and was Chair of the Professional Oversight Board, responsible for the Council’s Audit Inspection Unit (2000-2008).

Sir John was Chairman of the Multilateral Audit Advisory Group of the World Bank, and a member (formerly Chairman) of the Panel of External Auditors of the United Nations. He was a member of the Governing Boards of the International and of the European Organisations of National Audit Offices and Courts of Audit.

Sir John is a Visiting Professor at the London School of Economics, a Senior Advisor to the Foundation for Governance Research and Education and a member of the Advisory Board of its BPP Business School.

Before leaving the civil service to take up appointment as Comptroller and Auditor General, Sir John served as Deputy Under Secretary of State for Defence Procurement in the Ministry of Defence, in the Northern Ireland Office in Belfast and London, in the Treasury and at the Civil Service College
