**PLEASE NOTE: This event is now called “The Case for Place” and will start at 11am**

This event in Central London on 7 March 2019 will bring together the nation’s most eminent figures in government, research and industry and will discuss the best ways of tackling the Industrial Strategy’s Grand Challenges, enabling innovation in life sciences and sustaining continued excellence in health technology.

OVERVIEW

Sheffield has a reputation as a forward-looking city, with the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) and the Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park proving established foundations for growth. The city is fast becoming a leading part in the future of life sciences in the UK, particularly within specialisms in child health technology, rehabilitative care and advanced wellbeing research. The City Region NHS footprint is also a pioneer Integrated Care System, and has an exceptional record in healthcare, being rated outstanding by NHS Improvement. The ambition now is for Sheffield to work with those parts of government looking at the same sectoral challenges, building on its proven strengths, to establish the region as a major national centre for health and life sciences innovation.
